Current Research

My current research focuses on the bidirectional relationship between social mobility and health inequality. The first line of my work investigates how social mobility—both at the individual and aggregate levels—shapes individual health outcomes and population health disparities. Building on recent methodological advances in estimating the effects of mobility, this project seeks to provide rigorous evidence for social mobility as a social determinant of health. The second line of research examines how health, particularly early-life health, influences social mobility or reproduction. It explores how health operates as a driving force of social stratification, intersecting with family resources, education, race, gender, and sexuality to shape patterns of inequality.
